Tough, heat-loving, sun and drought tolerant fig species from, from.... oh, where the heck is it from.........yeah, Afghanistan! This makes a dense multi=stemmed deciduous shrub that is pretty awesome. While the small figs may be edible, the ornament far outstrips any desperate culinary use. We grow this species in our dead dry Arctostaphylos and Garrya bed which never gets watered except by rain here in the rainshadow - 'nuff said.
