Fantastic little gem from the high mountains of Taiwan collected by our friend Philip MacDougall. Our mama plant from him is several years old and is a compact dome 2' tall and wide. Early summer has this adorned in small heads of dark pink buds which open to dense heads of clustered flowers which have a pink throat with a corolla edge of pale pink to near white.

This evergreen Solomon Seal mimic was collected in Taiwan by horticultural powerhouse Adam Black who graciously shared a plant with us some years ago.  Evergreen leaves on a low spreading plant with white flowers although severe cold events might turn evergreen to deciduous.  Pair this with fine-textured ferns, smaller Ophiopogon, Trillium or really, whatever floats your garden design boat.  Follow Adam on Instagram – he goes deep!

A collection by plantsman Philip MacDougall from 10,500 feet in Taiwan of this excellent Squirrel's Foot fern which is one of the hardiest species growing up to 11,500 feet. Typically this is epiphytic on trees or epilithic on rocks with the takeaway for cultivation success being good drainage. This has easily handled 10F in a stumpery. Previously sold as Davallia cf. trichomanoides, before ace plant hunter Nick Macer gave us a tip on the correct ID, thanks Nick!
