The original introduction of this species by friend and mentor Steve Doonan from Taiwan in the late 60's or early 70's. This is the typical species and differs from ones seen with twisted leaves which were from tissue culture. Divisions of the plant given to us by Steve. Steve told us this survived in a pot outside one extreme winter for him at 0F.

A very nifty species distributed at lower elevations in Southeast Asia. This has quite large leaves to 2" wide by 6" long and can get 9' tall in the wild or around 6' in your garden. Typical white fragrant flowers in winter but at a height where you don't have to bend over. These are young but nice plants of an uncommon species and are best suited for a mild garden like Zone 8 and 9.
